Minister
Ava Muhammad
"It
is my fervent prayer that I succeed in my
assignment in order to help Minister
Farrakhan in his effort to destroy the myth
that women are inferior beings who could not
preach the word or shepherd the flock."
October marks the anniversary of the
historic Million Man March, called for by
the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan.
The Minister enlisted the aid and support of
countless churches, mosques and community
leaders to ensure the success of the event.
Although the march was catered to men,
several phenomenal women spoke and attended,
adding knowledge and distinction to the day
including Rosa Parks, Maya Angelou and
Minister Ava Muhammad.
Minister Ava Muhammad was born and raised in
Columbus, Ohio, and went to law school at
Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She
is a member of the New York State Bar
Association. Minister Louis Farrakhan
made history when he appointed Ms. Muhammad
as the first woman to lead a mosque and to
be National Spokesperson for the Nation of
Islam, and spokesperson for Minister
Farrakhan. Ava Muhammad was chosen to head
Muhammad's Mosque 15 in Atlanta, Ga., one of
the largest mosques in the country. In
addition to administering day to day affairs
in Atlanta, Minister Farrakhan named her
Southern Regional Minister, giving her
jurisdiction over Nation of Islam mosque
activity in Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi
and parts of Tennessee.
As well as being a Minister for the Nation
of Islam, criminal lawyer Muhammad has
authored such books as Queen of the
Planet Earth; The Rebirth; and Rise of the
